The reviews gave me low expectations. I didn't want to buy something I'd regret. At my local home improvement store, I saw and reluctantly tried a display. The solid feel and the range of grasping angles caught me by surprise. I wanted a vise that could bend to fit my projects, this is it. Much impressed by the demo, I took one home right away. Now realize, this is very compatible with rotary tools in that it's not meant for heavy duty work--like bearing down and ripping through 2x4's. Perhaps 'vice' is a misleading word in that regard--this isn't a hunk of metal bolted to a bench. This is a 'rotary tool multi-vise' which is an accurate description of this product--a multiple position clamp/holder for rotary tool projects.I've used this vise for wood working projects (custom guitar parts) and cutting bolts and other remodeling work.
