Beautiful--with one nagging flaw... This is essentially the perfect multi-tool. The functions included here will cover all of your bases without crowding your available space, which seems to be all-too common among multi-tools. The craftsmanship is outstanding; it looks and feels as durable as it gets. And now finally a matte black finish turns a clumsy looking gadget into a beautiful machine. However, herein lies its particularly annoying flaw. Right out of the box, the finishing coat on this tool left black smudges and marks all over my hands, especially where lubricant was applied. Now, overlooking the sissy/feminine jokes sure to come, that's just not okay with me, especially if those smudges transfer to whatever I'm working on. Luckily, within half an hour or so of thoroughly cleaning it with moist cotton swabs, the black finally stopped getting on my hands. To keep the joints turning fluidly, I reapplied some WD-40 from their pen dispenser. After all of that, I couldn't ask for a better...

Great, but... First, I love it. I won't review the actual tool as it's great and I have nothing to add. I've owned/used countless leathermans over the years and I love the tools.But...as another person has mentioned, the finish on this tool is less than ideal. It comes off on your hands and anything you touch for the first week or two of use. In addition, it's easily scratched during this time. No, Neither effect the function, but it's also not what I expect from leatherman. Concerned that the one I received didn't have a chance to finish curing, I emailed Leatherman (see below). I'm not sure why they can't cure the finish before sending it out or use a different type of black finish (i.e. gun blueing). It's still on my belt and I love it, but come on leatherman, fix it.-----Hello,Thank you for your email and your interest in Leatherman Tools. The black coating is applied on the exterior of the tool.
