A Great Way to Learn An Innovative RPG Mechanic I’m a fan of Edge of the Empire, but I like Age of the Rebellion even more because it deals with a more familiar setting (I’ve had the Beta version of the AotR Core Rulebook for a while now, and the beginner game has been available at my LGS since early last week). Like it’s predecessor, this beginner game includes everything you need to start playing… a rulebook with the most important basics, your first adventure, pregenerated characters, 14 custom dice, and destiny tokens (plus a bunch off character and vehicle tokens to help you keep track of things as you play). MSRP is $30, but if you shop around online you can usually get it for $20-24.These beginner games are worthwhile and relatively inexpensive way to learn the innovative Narrative Dice System if you are not already familiar with it (and the adventure includes all sorts of helpful hints along the way). As before, this is not the full game, it is just a sample of some of the most important parts of the game…
