Overall a very good unit with flaws as with any thing else. Biggest issue is with the blades, they dull extremely fast, I planned about 100 – 10’ southern yellow pine floor boards twice at 1/32 passes (all dirt and nails, etc. had been cleaned of these boards). I went through 1 double sided set and dulled half of the second set before I was finished. I highly suggest getting the aftermarket Carbide tipped blades to resolve this as the ones shipped with the unit are not very useful.Next issue is with the depth setting with the crank, it moves and when I noticed it I had lost about a 64th+ on the depth and had to reset and re-plane the boards. I wound up using a copper wire to tie the handle in place to keep it from moving.Last issue, the screws that hold the blades may have been defective in my unit because I was able to snap the heads off of two of them on one of the blades after I had swapped it around.Over all I do find the unit to be good, just getting to know it quarks and I am satisfied…
