Nice finished kit, but assembly pales in comparison to other kits in the series I am a huge fan of the Metal Earth kits, but sadly I have to give this one a 3 star rating, whereas I’ve given the others I’ve built 5 stars. The kit IS appealing once finished, but when compared to other kits in the series… this one falls far short.First, the number of pieces required to complete the kit is 8. Compare this to the 40(ish) pieces in the Tiger Tank and you can see how simplistic the build will be. Additionally, the instructions on this kit are insufficiently vague. The angles on the nose piece are not detailed enough, and it’s easy to assemble it poorly. This kit requires a fair amount of rounding of certain portions of the model. The instructions don’t give sufficient detail on the extent of the rounding, and fail to provide enough detail on the engine exhaust area to properly bend the metal to form the right shape.Relative to the other kits, I’m pretty disappointed overall. They have Improved the F-22 This is the 5th Metal Earth model I have completed and I am hooked. There is something very satisfying about bending tiny pieces of sheet metal and painstakingly assembling them together using the tiniest little bend tabs and slots you have ever seen. The quality and detail of the laser engraving and cutting is incredible. I can understand why some people are frustrated if they are not into this kind of miniature modes, so be warned. The packaging says “Pop out the pieces”. Nope, no popping them out, it’s more of an adventure in stress hardening by rocking tiny pieces back and forth until the little connections that hold the part in the sheet fails.I wanted to comment on this model in particular because based on previous review comments, Fascinations has completely overhauled this F-22 model. Mine looks quite different, and better, than the photo here or on their website, especially the forward fuselage. Someone mentioned there were only 8 pieces. My kit…
